Murphy

Murphy is such a lucky boy!  He found an absolutely wonderful forever home where he will be well-loved and cared for.  He's living in a dog-friendly neighborhood with lots of new friends to meet, and a sandy beach in his backyard - when I said lucky, I wasn't kidding!  Well done, Murphy!  

Murphy is an incredible companion—we’ve truly fallen in love with this joyful, big-hearted boy. Now he’s ready to share his energy, smiles, and love with a forever home of his own.

Murphy is the kind of dog who wakes up happy and goes to bed happy. After spending time getting to know him, one thing is clear: he truly loves life and the people (and dogs!) in it. He’s a playful, affectionate boy with a gentle and sensitive personality that shines brighter every day.

Murphy absolutely thrives around other dogs. He loves to run big zoomie circles in the yard, wrestle, and play classic “bitey face” with his canine friends. Because he plays with enthusiasm, he’d do best with a medium-to-large dog who can match his energy and appreciate his playful spirit.

This sweet boy also has a soft, sensitive side. Murphy really wants to make his people happy—so much so that if he sneaks off with something he shouldn’t have, you can practically see the apology written all over his face. He’s a great reminder to keep things picked up.

At night, Murphy now sleeps peacefully on his dog bed in the bedroom, happy just to be close to his people and his dog buddies. He's graduated from sleeping in his crate.  In the morning, if he thinks it’s time to start the day, he might hop up on your bed to say hello and soak up some pets. When he’s extra excited, he may gently nibble fingertips—a quirky, affectionate habit that’s part of his charm (and best suited for a home without very small children).

Murphy enjoys keeping watch over his yard and may bark at passing deer or to invite his dog friends to play. But he’s also a champion napper who knows how to relax after a good play session. His perfect day? Fun with furry friends, a cozy nap, plenty of love from his humans—and a few well-earned treats along the way.

Murphy is looking for a home that will enjoy his playful energy, appreciate his sweet spirit, and hopefully includes a canine buddy to share in the fun. If you’re looking for a loyal, lively, and loving companion, we should talk!

Murphy is an active, happy-go-lucky guy who thrives on playtime. He would love a home with a fun canine buddy—but he’d also be thrilled to be the loyal sidekick to a person who enjoys walks, hikes, and daily activity. If he can’t find someone to play with, he happily creates his own fun with big, goofy zoomies around the yard!  When playtime winds down, Murphy turns into the sweetest, easygoing companion. He loves chewing on toys, carrying around his special ball, or simply curling up at your feet to relax. He has that perfect balance of playful energy and cozy cuddle bug.

He is always ready to hop in the car—Murphy is a big fan of car rides -- and stretches out in the back seat, riding quietly looking out the windows.

Murphy is house trained (he’s a very good boy!) and does well when left home alone with his dog buddies. At night, he sleeps comfortably in his kennel with the door open, showing just how well-adjusted he is. While Murphy is tall enough to check out what’s happening on the kitchen counters, he’s been very polite so far and hasn’t helped himself to anything (though we’re keeping an eye on him, just in case).

Murphy has a playful, fun side too—he has a particular fondness for Kleenex and will attempt to sneak them out of your pocket when you’re not paying attention.

We think Murphy would do well with kids although he hasn’t met any while in his foster home.  Murphy enjoys being independent for a short time but also has a strong desire to be close to his people and follow them around and see what they’re doing. He’s inquisitive and the kind of dog who can entertain himself and then happily curl up next to you and join you in your chair for cuddles — he’s convinced he’s a lap dog.

Murphy is ready to bring love, laughter, and companionship to a lucky family. Murphy would love a fenced yard although one is not required if there’s a solid plan to keep him safe.  He can scoot out a door quickly and this tall boy can run fast!
