This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

Please welcome Reggie to the RAGOM family!  He is a Goldendoodle and is about 2.5 yrs old.  He weighs 53 lbs and is quite adorable.  He has seen the vet and is very healthy.  Today he was neutered and is recovering nicely at home.

We’ve only had him a few days so we’re still getting to know him.  He is crate trained and doesn’t seem to mind going in there while I’m at work.  He is a bit skittish but is starting to become more comfortable around people.  He is afraid of my husband, but our hope is that we can help him feel more comfortable around all people, including men.  I have seen dogs in rescue that come in very afraid and eventually they learn that only good things come from humans, not bad .  Even though he lived outdoors prior to joining the RAGOM family, he is becoming more and more comfortable in the house.  He is potty trained, but has marked a few times in the house.  We are expecting that since he is now neutered, any indoor marking tendencies will go away (they usually do).

We haven’t had him around children yet, but he will meet my granddaughter, who is 3 yrs., on Easter weekend.  He seems to enjoy walks and surprisingly walks very well on a leash.  He will require another dog in the home.  Why?  Because in order for him to grow comfortable around people, he needs to see another dog interacting (safely) with people.  He follows my resident Golden around the house.  When I pet my dog, he is much more likely to come to me for pets.  He watches Winston (my Golden) go in and out the doors and use steps, and he sees its okay.  He needs to be around another dog to see that life is good J    As we get to know Reggie more this weekend, I will send another update.  I have a feeling we will see more and more of his adorable personality shine through.
