Sadie is an 8 yr old, 68lb, Purebred female Golden Retriever. Sadie was adopted as a puppy and has lived with the same family her whole life. Unfortunately the new baby in the home developed an allergy to Sadie and she is looking for a new forever home. She has been in foster care for a week and has adjusted very well.Sadie has tolerated a vey busy home! Our house is bustling with kids and activities and she enjoys every bit of it. She is always eager to jump in the car and head off to the next game or event with the kids. She gets along great with my resident golden and yesterday met my grandparents large male German Shepard without issue. Sadie does not resource guard her food or toys, she is completely house trained and goes to the door when she wants to go outside. She is free roam in my house and has never been destructive. She has excellent recall and knows all the basic commands happily performing them for treats. She is very eager to please and always looks like she is smiling. We have been working on leash manners a few times a day. When I first walked Sadie she almost pulled me off my feet. She was eager to go and wanted to sniff everything. She has been wearing a Gentle Leader every time we go out. While it is not her favorite thing, she walks 99% better on it. She is growing more used to getting it put on and will sit still until everything is adjusted if it means she gets to go on walks. Sadie loves to be out and about. For how much she used to pull, I was pretty surprised that she pays no mind to other dogs or squirrels on our walks.Sadie is such a wonderful dog. She would love a home where she can get outside often to go on walks. She is calm, well trained and would make an excellent first time dog for a family. With her submissive nature and willingness to please, I am sure you will fall in love with this gem! Please let your placement advisor know if you are interested in Sadie.
