If you are looking for a sweet Valentine, let me introduce you to Clyde.  Clyde arrived at my house a week ago, and the progress he has made already is awesome. He was extremely shy and fearful; we had to carry him outside the first day or two.  He is still somewhat shy around new people but very polite, and he's an absolute delight!

Not a lot is known about Clyde before he came to Minnesota via a transport from Alabama with a number of other dogs.   He is a Golden Retriever mix, approximately 5-6 months old, weighs 45 lbs, and is a beautiful light golden/cream color.  We visited the vet on Friday and he is a healthy guy.  He does have intestinal parasites that are being treated.  We will return to the vet in two weeks for a re-check.  Clyde also has an abdominal hernia that will be repaired.  Clyde has had his puppy vaccinations, his rabies shot, and he is already neutered.  When Clyde arrived at my house, I wasn't sure if he was potty trained because he had several accidents the first few days.  However, now he seems to go to my front door when he needs to go outside and he hasn't had any accidents for a couple of days.  We'll keep working on this and I think he's almost there.  Clyde does not like crates.  I do crate him when I'm out, but we would never get any sleep if we crated him at night.  Consequently he sleeps with a member of my family.

Clyde is an active boy who loves to run and play.  If you have a runner in your family, he might make a great running companion.  He seems to be well coordinated.  His tail curls up so perfectly and he is just a beautiful pup.  Because he's shy, he doesn't jump up on visitors, and as soon as he warms up to people he loves to be petted, hugged and he gives great kisses.  This sweet boy needs lots of love and attention and he will give it right back.   If you are interested in Clyde, please contact your placement person.  I know Clyde would love to be your Valentine forever!!
