Sherman

Our sweet foster boy, Sherman, was adopted this week by an absolutely wonderful family, and while our hearts are so full, we’re definitely going to miss him.

Sherman has an old soul — the kind of pup who could communicate entire paragraphs with just his eyes. Those thoughtful glances and classic side-eye looks were his signature, and they never failed to make us smile. In just a few short weeks, he became the “mayor” of our neighborhood, happily greeting every person and four-legged friend we met on our daily walks. Everyone who crossed his path was drawn to his gentle demeanor and the joy he carried with him.

We’re so excited for him to continue to thrive in his new home and fully enjoy the golden life he deserves. We know he’ll spend his days watching wildlife, going on peaceful walks, soaking up all the love, and giving that same quiet, gentle love right back.

Congratulations, Sherman. Thank you for letting us be part of your journey. We’ll miss you, buddy — go enjoy your beautiful new chapter.

Meet Sherman!

Sherman is a sweet and gentle 2–3 year-old Golden Retriever mix who recently joined RAGOM from a shelter in Iowa. He has a calm, friendly nature and is adjusting wonderfully to his new home.

Sherman loves people and enjoys spending time both indoors and outdoors. He’s friendly with other dogs, enjoys meeting new friends, and loves going for walks. At home, he is house-trained and has not shown any destructive behavior.

Sherman has already formed a strong bond with our two college-aged kids and adores belly rubs! While he doesn’t seem like a flight risk, a fence isn't required but a solid plan to keep him safe is important. Another canine companion could be a nice bonus — it’s not necessary for his happiness. He has not been fully tested with cats.

Sherman is looking for a loving home where he can enjoy walks, cuddles, and plenty of quality time with his people.
