Abby
Profile
Abby was lovingly surrendered to RAGOM by her owner. Abby has not been tested with kids, but should do just fine with them. She needs another confident dog to help her stay calm when alone. She is good with cats. A physical fence is optional. Abby needs a family that will provide patience, consistent training, exercise, and guidance to become a delightful family member.

As we get to know Abby better, we’ve discovered some of our favorite Abby-isms! Abby is sweet as pie. You don’t have to bend down to pet her. Though a higher-energy dog, Abby is 100% happy to lounge around the house, too! A combination of stimulating games (think kong, puzzle toys), fetch, walks, and playing with other dogs does the trick for Abby. Then, you’ll find her snoozing in the most comfortable spot she can find (usually somewhere near her people!) She is not des... Read more → Read less ↑

Meet Abby!

This sweet, gentle soul is a 2.5 year old Golden Mix (Golden Retriever/Great Pyrenees) with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging. Abby is ready to live the golden life and build a bright future with her forever family!
Abby was surrendered to RAGOM because she barked when her people were gone, which was not acceptable as townhome neighbors. The surrendering owner and Abby’s vet both strongly felt that having a confident medium or large dog would make all the difference—we are happy to report it has! Abby has flourished living with our golden pack. For this reason, Abby will require another confident medium or large dog. Additionally, though much of her barking has subsided thanks to her doggy friends, a single-family home is preferred.
When her foster parents are away, Abby prefers to not be crated (though, is crate trained) but instead left in a safe area of the house with her foster sisters (for us, this is our gated living room). Foster mom does work from home most of the week, but when we do leave, we can see Abby on the camera. She loves to look out the window and play with her youngest foster sister. It appears a lot of her anxiety subsides with a little help from her friends!
Abby is a smart, healthy gal who loves to play, go on walks, and snuggle with her people. She is also a stunner with her caramel-colored eyes and beautiful soft coat. Though tall, Abby weighs just 66 lbs and, despite her mix, Abby is certainly all things golden! She will be your constant and loyal companion—not to mention your shadow!
As a descendent of a working dog breed, Abby is full of energy and joy and thrives when she has plenty to do such as walks, treat puzzles, play time with other dogs, and fetch in the backyard. Abby loves to play with other dogs (she has the cutest play bow!) and a home with another resident dog who likes to play would be a great fit. A fenced yard where she can roam, run, play and wrestle with other dogs would allow Abby to be her happiest self.
If you’re looking for a sweet and affectionate gem of a companion, Abby is your gal!
