Profile

Hello all,

A big welcome for Blue 08-593. He has arrived safe and sound at his new foster home in sunny Northern Wisconsin, ( -23F this am BRRRRRRRRR) and is now well on his way to the good life. he was driven through a two day blizzard by some very wonderful RAGOM volunteers from Southern Iowa to the frozen tundra. Blue sends a heartfelt lick to all who helped him along the way.

Blue is a 2 year old intact male Golden/Husky mix. He has one brown and one blue eye, hence the name Blue. What a riveting look that blue eye has. As you can tell by his photo he looks true Golden. He is house trained, likes to lay down when he eats, and loves to sit and look out the window at the deer feeding at the bird feeder. At first he growled and barked at them, but now just sits and watches. I don't know how he is with cats. His papers show that he can jump a five foot fence, but so far he has not exhibited that talent here.

He has the sweetest disposition and is one mellow guy. He gets along fine with the resident dogs. There was some posturing from the resident male and Blue took it all in stride. Things are now settled and they both are playing on the living room floor as I write this. He has had some tough sledding in his young two years. He was abandoned and left to fend for himself. His owners moved and just left him behind. He spent the past 3 months in a shelter. He carries many scars on his head, nose, and ears. There is also one on his left hind leg. His temperament is so soft, mild, and submissive to all dogs and humans alike. He loves everyone. To maintain that attitude and personality after all his trials and tribulations is just a wonder. It only goes to show what a loving boy he is. He seems to like women more than men at first meeting, but warms to both after a short period. That only tells me one thing. He had some rough handling from a male human and was treated better by female. He follows my wife around like a shadow.

He was vetted today. He was brought up to date on everything. All his tests were negative except his stool showed tape worms and that is being taken care of as I write this. He is scheduled for neutering and micro-chipping on the 8th of January. He will be ready for that new forever home shortly after that.

Blue is keeping a "eye" out for that special new home where he will be loved and cared for. For now he is going to spend Christmas and New Years in a nice warm place and this evening is going to watch the Packers whoop the Bears! More to follow.
