Profile

Brinkley was surrendered to us in Willmar today by some very sad parents who were forced to give him up due to a city ordinance. He left behind several golden house-mates, who I'm sure he will miss, but the surrendering owners were only able to keep 3 dogs in town, so they were forced to give him up. He was obviously very well cared for and loved.

As you can see from his photos, Brinkley is a very handsome boy - neutered, and in great health from what we know and can tell so far. He has a strawberry blond coat, and is TALL, long, and lean! He has such a cute, long face - very unique looking guy. He's already met several people at work today, and they were all very impressed with his good
looks. :) Brinkley came into our home and met our resident dogs like a ball of fire - running in circles with excitement. His scruff stood up a little when our old girl gave him the business, but he was totally over her in about ten seconds. He really likes our boy golden, and immediately engaged in a game of keep away with him. Brinkley grabbed a toy, and ran in circles around our kitchen table, trying to get Hughie (our male golden), to chase after him. Hughie, however, doesn't move that fast (he can, just doesn't want to so much), and just watched with amusement as Brinks kept running until he made himself dizzy! It was pretty hysterical!

Poor guy did make a couple nervous puddles and one big pile, all within the first 5 minutes of meeting our dogs. But after that, seems like he'll be easy to finish potty training. The surrendering owners said he was about 80% housetrained. I was able to get him to go in the dog run a couple times already, and he went on our walk earlier, so I'm sure he'll be fine.

Brinkley hadn't used a gentle leader before I guess, but he did GREAT with it on our walk tonight! He loves to play. I'm sure he'll have a great time with dogs, kids, or any other moving thing that will pay attention to him! He is so cute - right now, Brinks is fast asleep on the kitchen floor- too much excitement for him tonight. I hate to wake him up - he looks so peaceful.

More to come on this happy boy soon!!
