Brody arrived on Wednesday, March 25. He is ridiculously good-looking and an absolute sweetheart. As I type, he is curled up beside me on the couch. He has the wonderful golden personality! Brody is 1 to 1½ year old, 60 lb. male PB Golden Retriever. He is a Velcro boy who stays by your side everywhere you go. He loves snuggles and deserves as many as he can get. Brody wasn’t in the best situation his first year of life.

Brody was very active the first days at our home. We weren't certain that he slept! He has settled in very well. He is a very gentle dog in spirit and loves to play with other dogs, but he gets a bit exuberant and overpowering with our resident dogs, Cooper (aka Romeo, 13-157) and Trackr (14-306).  As each day passes, it is interesting to watch Brody adapt his play in order to engage Cooper and Trackr who had become a bit reticent. The Good Samaritan who rescued him said Brody was afraid of her very young puppies, however! Brody also thinks every toy is his so forcibly takes anything and everything from Cooper and Trackr. He loves playing fetch, but ‘drop it’ is no part of his vocabulary! He will run around the yard with 4 tennis balls in his mouth! He will hold onto them for hours. He even takes them on walks and tries to stuff another one in his mouth! As a result, we’ve hid the tennis balls for a few days.

Very sad.... No tennis balls!

The person who rescued Brody said he pulled like a freight train on a leash. She was 100% correct. Fortunately, the gentle leader came to the rescue, and Brody does beautifully on walks now.

Brody is scheduled for his neuter surgery on April 1st .

Treat, Por Favor!

More Brody:

Loves being brushed and makes a sound similar to a purr/snore while being brushed! We never stop laughing when brushing him.

Loves his belly rubs.

Completely house trained.

Whoever adopts Brody will have to be committed to obedience classes and a daily exercise routine for Brody.

Kennel...not so much! May the force be with you!

Loves car rides

Brody would do well with children over 8

Initially hops on the bed to sleep, but moves to the floor later in the night.
