Hello everyone, please let me introduce myself, my name is Buddy and I am a 2.5 year old PB Golden Retriever.  I have been with my foster family for three days now so we are all just getting to know each other.  In my previous home I lived with another Golden, a teenager and my human mom and dad.  My folks thought it would be best if I found a new home as they have to work very long hours now and did not have enough time to spend with me.  They did not think it was fair to me to be kept in a crate for endless hours so now I am a RAGOM dog.  So far things are going well at my foster home, I have two dogs to play with and tons of toys and a nice lady who is trying to teach me how to be a good boy so I can live the Golden life like all dogs should.  I went to the doctor yesterday and they did gave me some shots and did some tests and things to me.  I'll let the nice lady fill you in on the details of my visit.  Right now I need to go play with Rocco, the 3 year old chocolate lab.  He is teaching me all about a dogs life....things like running free in a fenced yard and eating Frosty Paw treats are all new to me, so I'm very happy I have Rocco to show me the ropes.  I like him and Jimmie the 8 year old lab....she's a bit bossy but so far has been nice, just has more rules than Rocco who lets me play hard and be goofy.

Hi, foster mom here to fill in what Buddy left out.  Buddy is a very handsome, sweet, loving guy who's previous family loved him so much that they realized they did not have the time needed to help him grow into the perfect Golden.  He weighs 76 pounds but should drop 6 or 8 to be at his ideal weight.  He is current on all vaccinations, neutered and only has the normal retriever ear infection plus a bit of a skin infection that seems to be related to allergies.  He is on two antibiotics for the next 14 days and I am hopeful that changing his food and treats to something that does not contain corn will help with his allergies.  Buddy is adjusting well to his foster home.  He sleeps in his crate at night without a peep from him and is completely housebroken.  He walks very well with a gentle leader, no pulling at all...much better than my two resident dogs.  Today he had his first Frosty Paw treat, which he loved and is busy checking out all the toys at our house.  Buddy really enjoys the fenced back yard where he and Rocco can run until they wear each other out.  Buddy is a very loving dog.  Yesterday I had him tethered to me while I worked on my computer (I always do this with new fosters until I know them...helps them to bond and keeps them out of trouble), I forgot I had him attached to me and jumped up to answer the telephone.  Buddy's leash was wrapped around the leg of my dining room table and it pretty much stopped me in my tracks.  I tumbled and fell over Buddy and Rocco, managing to catch my lap top before it crashed to the floor, only to be comforted and licked by Buddy as I lay on the floor.  Rocco is usually the first responder for falls or injuries but Buddy got to me even before him....so sweet.  Buddy also likes to give kisses if you sneeze or cough, very loving boy.

Requirements for Buddy's forever home include someone committed to taking him to obedience school so he can bond with his new family and find an outlet for some of his young dog energy.  He is very easy to train, as I've already taught him to sit before receiving a treat and before eating. His new home should not have children younger than 10, as he is a big guy who could easily knock over little ones in his excitement.  Another dog would be nice as would a fenced yard but neither are required as long as the new owners are committed to giving him plenty of daily exercise and playtime with other dogs.

Buddy will make his first official public appearance at Goldzilla on Saturday the 18th.  Please stop by to see him or contact your placement adviser if Buddy sounds like your new Buddy, I promise you will not be disappointed in this great Golden guy.
