This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

Buddy is a wonderful old man surprisingly full of puppy-like energy. He enjoys making snow-angels outside and playing with soft toys, mostly teddy bears. He seems to enjoy one teddy in particular that he suckles on when he gets sleepy, or is feeling relaxed. He loves to be right next to me and loves to follow me around the house (even though we are no longer tethered together). Also, he is quite photogenic! Handsome boy.

Buddy does have some things we are working on. He is quite overweight, so we have cut back to 3 cups a day (instead of 6). It seems to be helping.

Buddy also needs a bit of guidance with the Gentle Leader. He seems to do best on a short leash (I wrap it around myself because he tends to pull). He does great with other dogs; we met a few on our last walk and he just wants to play with them. Such a friendly boy.

Buddy also has a large hot spot for which I have had him into the vet for treatment. He is on 4 pills a day of antibiotics, and a topical cream that I put on once per day. The skin has made a large improvement in that area and I have faith that it will heal completely in due time. I do have to keep it wrapped so I change his bandage every day because he licks at it. I am considering getting him an E-collar to stop licking and chewing at his bandage.

Buddy does well in a crate while I am working, and I am going to try soon to allow him to have a limited area of the house while we are working instead of being crated. He seems to think he is in trouble when he goes in the crate so we are working on making that fun!

Buddy also enjoys eating grass (like most dogs) so we are attempting to avoid grass currently, as it upsets his tummy.

Buddy is such a wonderful and loving dog. He does fantastic at the grooming salon. I have groomed him myself twice already and he was wonderful for it. I look forward to him finding his forever home!!

Good morning from Buddy! It's a sleepy snuggly morning today. Buddy's leg has already started showing signs of healing after two therapeutic laser appointments. So happy for him! He has also lost 12 pounds since coming to live with us. That's a huge step for him when he came in at 117lbs!!

Ben took Buddy to the vet a few days ago to get his arm rechecked. His hot spot has made progress but is healing slowly. The vet suggested laser therapy, and....they've generously offered to donate the cost of the treatments!! Buddy will go in twice a week for therapy until he's healed. Thank you so much, Lakes Veterinary & Surgical Center in Lindstrom, MN!

Buddy is such a wonderful boy. I came home sick from work two days ago and he never left my side. Normally I don't encourage or allow dogs on the bed (for future adoptive family's sake) however Buddy knew there was something wrong when I came home. Without me even giving him a cue, he snuggled up with me on my bed to make sure I was okay. It was the sweetest thing I have seen from him so far; the type of behavior that would be appropriate for visiting nursing homes or hospitals. I believe...
