Profile
Butterball is a wonderful boy who was lovingly surrendered by his owner due to a move. He was adopted from RAGOM as a 7-month-old puppy and 10 years later his mom has asked us to find him a new home. He has settled in nicely at his foster home and gets along well with other dogs but can be an only dog and also likes children. He lived with a cat previously, but RAGOM has not tested him. He does not require a fenced yard, but a safety plan must be in place until he learns better recall. He has been well-loved his whole life and is looking for that special family to love him through his Golden years.
Dog Updates
2/2/2025Monday, Feb. 3rd will be the day we drove to Lakeville to pick up Butter. We are so enjoying having Butter in our lives. On his 11th birthday he officially became the oldest in this Senior Home so he can call all the shots as one must respect elders (right?). He is truly the sweetest dog ever. We consider ourselves very lucky that we were picked to be his parents. Thank you to RAGOM! Carol & Ron F.- 2/4/2024Butterball has been adopted by the Ron & Carol F family and boy has he hit the jackpot with them! When I signed up to foster Butter, I promised his surrendering owner that I would find him the perfect home where he would be happy and loved and I am confident we have found that for sweet Butterball!
- 1/24/2024A few more things about Butterball that I forgot to mention or that we've learned about him: He has learned how to tell us when he "needs" to go outside: He goes and stands by the door and looks at it and back to us and tries to send us telepathic messages. I put "needs" in quotes because sometimes he just WANTS to go outside and now he's testing me to see if it does in fact work. (It does!) Which leads me to number 2... Even in these frigid cold temps, he loves to just go out and sit or walk ar...
- 1/19/2024Meet Butterball, aka Buttercup, aka Butternut, aka Butterbean, or whatever else comes out of our mouths because for some reason we can't remember Butterball when we call him! But he's had this name his entire life so I am trying to get used to it so as not to confuse him. His nickname, Butter, does seem to roll off the tongue a little easier though. Butterball was originally brought to RAGOM from a Craigslist ad and adopted from RAGOM when he was a wee lad of 7 months old. He lived with his mom...
- 2/11/2014Butterball was adopted by the wonderful T family! They will give him lots of love and attention, as well as obedience training. He has already responded to the children's commands. Yes! He has his very own children! I know he will be a loyal companion to his Mom who works from home. He hit the jackpot and so did they. Butterball will be missed by his foster family, but we are so excited he has his very own family! We are grateful to the T family for adopting and loving Butterball.
