Profile

Casey is a sweet boy. He is a golden retriever mixed with something smaller.  He weighs 39 pounds and every bit of it is full of energy.  He is a true extrovert and happy explorer.  These qualities are what have brought him to RAGOM.  “The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence!” is Casey’s motto.  He is a bit of an escape artist when he can’t see what is going on.  When contained in a privacy fence, he will dig himself out.  If he is in a chain link fenced yard, he is happy to stay put.

Casey is very friendly with dogs and people.  He loves children and has lived with two 2 year olds and an 8 year old.  I think he must have been named for Casey Jones, as he pulls like a freight train when on a leash.  I will be trying to slow him down using a Gentle Leader.

I have only known him since 9AM today, but can tell that he is a GREAT dog.  He rode very nicely in the car with me.  I am told that he has lots of fun ripping up stuffed animals, but who doesn’t?

At long last love! Casey met his perfect, forever family. Two energetic boys will keep Casey busy and a newly installed fence will keep him contained. He was a hit with the whole family, including neighbors (who are a RAGOM family too!). It will be tough letting Mr. Casey-Face go, but I am certain that he will get all of the love and attention he can take from his forever home. He started on a rawhide chew during his visit and can't wait to get back to it when he moves in. This is what makes fos...

Casey attended a production of As You Like It at Boom Island Park on Saturday. I think it was his first experience with Shakespeare, and he did quite well. He found the first act too hot and sunny, but loved the second act which was in the shade. He tried to tell all the dogs that were walking by that they should stay and watch. He made it through the Robbinsdale fireworks on Sunday which are shot off about one block from my house. No trauma from them. I hope to take him next week to visit a...

Casey is doing just great. He continues to charm everyone that he meets. He is getting to be a regular at St Therese’s Care Center where we visit my mom each week. I am just mystified that he has not been adopted yet. He is a lover boy, gentle, sweet and sunny. He is totally trustworthy when left alone (no accidents, no damage). He came through the firecrackers yesterday with no problem. He is a really nice smaller size with short fur. Compared to my big goldens, he is maintenance free!&nb...

Mr Casey met LOTS of very nice people at the St Louis Parktacular on Saturday. He was wearing a blue bandana and looked quite spiffy. I have attached a photo to show how cute he is. He was a wonderful greeter. Many children got free “feather kisses” from him. One little girl offered him her tootsie pop, but luckily he did not get to kiss that! He got a little worried when I left him with Jane so that I could carry things back to her car. Jane said that he stood up on his back legs an...

Casey went to the event at Fury Motors last weekend. He loved meeting everybody, but was not so happy about the weather. Since he has short fur and no undercoat, he did not have the protection that the fluffier goldens did. We tried to keep dry as much as possible. He met a nice couple who thought he might be a match for them. They have not had a home visit yet, so we will see. Someone else who has not yet applied is also interested in Casey, so things are looking up for a forever home. I don&rs...

Casey continues to be a lover boy and very popular everywhere he goes. Unfortunately, I am getting more attached to him. Someone out there must save me from myself. I know that he will be the best dog EVER for someone reading this page! He will be at the RAGOM event at Fury Motors this Saturday. I am sure that when people see what a sunny, smiley, sweet boy he is, he will be adopted soon!

Casey came oh so close to being adopted this week. Unfortunately, he did not get along with the family's resident dog. Casey does fine with my dogs, but there was just a clash of personalities between him and the resident dog. Casey continues to steal the hearts of everyone he meets. To know him is to LOVE him. He is very affectionate and loving. He is always a big hit at work when I bring him in. When we visited St Therese Care Center he attracted many, many friends.  He is sweet and...

Casey had a big day today, and he is taking a snooze. He went with me to visit my Mom and met lots of people who wanted to pet him.  He made friends with a 3 year old who thought he was just the best!  After that visit, he went to his first RAGOM volunteer meeting. SO MANY NICE DOGS!  He sniffed and sniffed and sniffed.  He was very well behaved during the meeting and found lots of folks to pet him. I had a bit of a scare with Casey on Tuesday. He was next to me on the b...

Casey has had a good week.  His heartworm test was negative and so was his fecal check.  Since he has a clean bill of health I started him on heartworm preventative and flea prevention.  The vet said he is a perfect weight, but I think he could gain a pound or two.  Besides going to the vet, he has come to work with me and visited my mother at St Therese Care center.  Everywhere he goes people fall in love with him. He is so friendly and loveable. He is a very light...
