Caspian
Profile
Hello everyone! This gorgeous guy is Caspian, a neutered male just a few months shy of 2 years old. He hasn't been with us very long, so we have yet to see his full personality. At 94lbs he's a big bundle of love and fur! So far he seems pretty easy going and sweet. We'll have more in a few days when we get to know him better!

Hi Ragom, Our family is heartbroken. Our sweet rescue boy had cancer in his liver, kidney and spleen, and after x-rays and ultrasounds, we had to send him over the Rainbow Bridge on Monday. We adoped him from RAGOM in 2007 and to say that he was loved doesn't feel like it says enough. He was Caspian when we adoped him (07-352) and we changed his name to Kinnick (after the Iowa Hawkeyes). It didn't take long to realize he wasn't tough enough for Kinnick and we called him Smoochie for years.... Read more → Read less ↑
Hi Ragom,
Our family is heartbroken. It didn't take long to realize he wasn't tough enough for Kinnick and we called him Smoochie for years. It just fit him perfectly.
Our home is empty without him and we will love him always.

Kinnick is WONDERFUL! He went to the beauty shop this week and now looks like a fierce lion! His coat is so soft. He's actually not at all chubby, we were surprised at how lean he really is. He chases his tail all the time with the little poof at the end. Everyone who has met Kinnick remarks on how big, beautiful, and well mannered he is. We are proud to be his family. The kids adore him. Kinnick has been sleeping in their rooms this week. I told Caden and Brooke that I thought he likes kid... Read more → Read less ↑

I told Caden and Brooke that I thought he likes kids more than he likes grown ups. They think that's great! Here's a funny story about Kinnick. The other night I was singing the goofy theme song from Blues Clues to the kids and Kinnick came up behind me and bit me in the butt! The kids thought this was hysterical!! I know I'm a horrible singer, but geez! Brooke says "I really like Kinnick and he's a good dog. He's really playful!" Thanks for taking such good care of him while fostering him.

Caspian knows that there are a lot of people following his story, so I know he'd want me to send in one last update to tell everyone where he is! Caspian found his forever home last weekend, and it was love at first sight! Now Caspian has a mom and a dad who are both home a lot, and two kids that have been waiting for him for a very long time! His forever family is so happy to have finally found their dog! Congratulations to Caspian and the 'F' family! &n... Read more → Read less ↑

We've had Caspian for a few more days now, and he's really been so great! He is very easy going in the house, and adores attention. He's been playing like a pup with my resident, and having fun rolling around in the mud with her as well! He went to the vet yesterday, and he has a very mild bacterial infection on his skin, but now we are armed with medicine and we'll get rid of that without a problem! While at the vet yesterday, Caspian happened to see a couple of (very small) kittens in a crate, and wasn't at all sure what the little wiggly things were! He started to get afraid and slowly back up....so I thought, let's go over there and just have a look at these scary kittens. So we went up to the cage and as Caspian was watching them, one little kitten jumped and swatted in Caspian's direction. After that Caspian was no longer interested in being up close to the little kittens, but everyone in the vet's office thought it was quite endearing to see such a HUGE dog be intimidated by such a very small kitten. Caspian and I like to think of the kitten as a very ferocious tiger.... ; )
Caspian is quite a big guy. At 96lbs, this guy is very, very tall! He is a gentle giant though, and loves to snuggle. He does very, very well on walks. He is a pro at using a gentle leader, which makes walking him very easy! Caspian has a family coming to visit him today and we can't wait!! We'll let you know how it goes! :)
