Profile

Chavalet (Chevy) is a 3 1/2 yr. old female Golden Retriever who came to RAGOM through a breeder surrender. She was raised in the breeder's home with the family rather than a barn like mill environment. Chevy may have developed a taste for human food and that habit is being worked on but for that reason she should be with children aged 8 or older since she may try to make a food grab. Chevy is a very sweet, smart and trainable dog and continued obedience training would be beneficial. She is a very sweet and gentle dog, doesn't resource guard and has shown no aggression of any kind. She is quiet and could live in a shared wall environment. She has not been tested with cats but does have a laser focus on squirrels. A physical fence is not required as long as there is a plan in place for keeping Chevy safe and providing exercise.

It is with a tear in our eye that we announce that sweet Chevy has gone to her forever home.  Her new family has a large fenced yard and a lake home for lots of adventures and play time with doggy cousins. She will be loved and cherished by her new family.

Chevy came to us with no obedience skills, so we are going to “school” so she can learn thebasics. She is smart and a fast learner, especially when treats are involved. She is mastering sitand down. Stay is a little harder, so is leash walking without pulling, but she is an enthusiasticstudent.

Chevy is an extremely sweet, loving girl who just wants to be close to her people. She will askfor constant petting, especially when we are sitting at a desk or watching TV, but she is learningto come to us for a pet, then lay down nearby. Chevy loves to be outside, but so far hasn’tshown much interest in chasing balls or playing with other dogs. That could change when theweather warms. While friendly to other dogs, she is more interested in people. In our backyard and on walks, Chevy love...
