Profile

Welcome Dudley!

We have a big, ball of love that just came into RAGOM. Dudley is stated to be 5 ½. RAGOM is his second rescue. He originally came from TX. He was attacked when he was younger, however I am not sure by what and not sure when it happened. But let me tell you, he has no effects from the attack. Dudley’s SO (Surrendering Owner) had him for about 3.5 years but due to unforeseen circumstances they had to surrender him to RAGOM. He was loved!

Dudley came to our house Sunday night, it was a looooong transport from IA and he handled it well! THANK YOU to the wonderful volunteers that spent their Sunday, driving and getting this love bug to us!

What do we know about Dudley…

  • He is a lover, gives the lean, gives the paw!
  • He was just groomed yesterday and is handsome as can be. He was a stinky boy! J
  • He is crate trained, house trained.
  • He walks great on a leash but is slow, so we need to take little walks, because I don’t think he went for long walks….he stopped 3 houses away yesterday and wouldn’t budge.
  • He has a face of gold! LOVE!!
  • He weighs 81 pounds and could lose about 5+ lbs. Went to the vet and everything checked out GReat!
  • He does well in a fenced yard, but not necessary if you are able to keep him on a leash or tie out until you work on his recall/training
  • Loves kids! In his paperwork it states the he has been around kids ages 10+. But what I can say is he loves my kiddos. Welcomes them when they wake up in the morning and loves to steal their stuffed animals. So we have to trade with him!
  • He doesn’t really respond to his name
  • Doesn’t know commands, but is trainable! We will hopefully start training on commands.
  • Gets along great with our resident, met the dogs through the fence next door. A dog came out running towards us and Dudley didn’t even flinch. The one thing is he ‘likes’ our resident female. But he gets the ‘clues’ to get off!
  • Squirrels….his ears perk!

So are you and or your family the ones for Dudley? If so, please contact your placement advisor. He has done well in our crazy home but wouldn’t mind a quiet one either. He is used to being an only dog, but multiple dogs are fine. I will try and take more pics and upload them soon!
