Ever is a beautiful, happy, 6 year old female that is glad to be with RAGOM, and no longer a puppy mill momma!  Don't let her past fool you though, Ever is not your typical puppy mill dog!  When Ever first got home yesterday, we opened her crate in the backyard, hoping that she'd be brave enough to come out and see us...and boy was she ever!  She jumped right out and came up to me for attention and pets, and sat her bottom right down next to me for as much loving as she could get.  Then she explored the backyard, sniffed everything...and even picked up a tennis ball and ran around with it!   

We put a collar and leash on Ever and she didn't mind one bit.  Ever met the other dogs and did just fine, but her true love seems to be humans.  Ever will follow you around and I have no doubt she'd be happiest if she was showered with attention at all times.  This is very easy to do because she is a happy, sweet girl.  Even though she's 6 years old, she still acts like a girl who has all the energy and love for the world that a 2, 3, or 4 year old would.  In fact, if she didn't have some white hairs on her face, we'd never believe she was 6 years old!  

Another very exciting piece of news to report is that Ever seems to enjoy toys!  At first we thought it might only be tennis balls (she really loves tennis balls, squeaky balls, any kind!), but earlier today she was chewing on a rope, and then just a bit ago she was working hard on a plastic bone!  She even had a Greenie earlier, which she really seemed to enjoy!  

At the moment, (and for the past hour or two) Ever has been in the bedroom with us, being groomed.  Ever came to us full of hard, thick mats, that made her look very much like a porcupine!  We were very happy when we realized that many of these mats were only tangled in her fur, but not actually connected to her, so they've been coming out quite well.  And Ever has been an incredible trooper, she's laid on the dog bed and relished in her one on one human attention!  After all the mats come out, Ever will be ready for bath #3, and hopefully by the end of today, Ever will smell as beautiful as she looks!

Ever will be going to the vet this week for a check up and to see when she can get spayed.  Ever is 6 years old, and the oldest of all the dogs from this puppy mill...so we're sure she's had her fair share of puppies over the years.  Her belly seems in pretty good shape though, it doesn't look like she's had a litter too recently.  She does have an unfortunately high number of hot spots, which is understandable given most of her body was covered in mats!  So I'm sure the vet will give us some medicine to start treating those immediately.

Ever doesn't seem like she's going to need another dog in the house.  Ever seems to get along fine with the other dogs, but her #1 favorite thing in life is definitely HUMAN LOVE.  So being in a house where she can get all the love and attention would be fine with her!  Ever is one of the happiest dogs I've ever met, and she is just thrilled by anything you give her, even if it's an old, dirty tennis ball!  If you're looking for a dog to love, spoil, and adore...who will love, adore and cherish you in return, this happy, little girl is for you!  We'll have more updates I'm sure very soon, as we are having a great time learning about her.  We'll definitely let you know how her vet visit goes too!
