Goldie arrived in her temporary foster home after the long trip from Alabama. She is settling in, learning to navigate life with two bigger and older fur-foster-brothers. There was a bit of tension and growling at first, but it seemed to be her way of finding her place with the other dogs in residence. The three dogs now seemed to have worked it out, and there have no issues at all since the initial introduction(s). The perfect home for Goldie might be a home where she is the only dog (at first).
Goldie is a tiny purebred Golden Retriever - weighing just over 45#. She has a sweet disposition, showing and asking for only love and affection for her humans. She is a Golden who can easily be a lap dog due to her petite size and lovable personality. When she was first vetted after arriving as a RAGOM dog, it was discovered she had whipworm and is being treated with medication.
We rarely hear her bark, even when the resident dogs are barking nonstop! She does seem to need a bit of gentle guidance with simple commands; it does not appear that she has been trained for "sit," "stay," "come," or recognizing her name. FM has taken to calling her "Princess," due to her adorable curled tail, dainty walk, and eating habits.
This wonderful dog is a gem and will be a wonderful addition to a family.
