Profile

Harry came to RAGOM from an out-of-town shelter. Harry has a great personality, loving everyone he meets. He is a young dog who will need consistent exercise and also an obedience class to teach him basic manners. He is not unruly but was not taught basic commands. Harry does have seizures, which are well controlled with medication. The seizure medication makes him drink more water, which leads to more potty breaks throughout the day. His forever home should be able to let him out every 4 – 5 hours.

Happy New Year! It sure was for Harry in his new home as he hosted a dog party for his doggy friends and doggy cousins!

Harry's days will be spent going for runs with his mom and dad, playing fetch and tug with his three young human siblings, and enjoying peanut butter Kongs as he hangs out next to his mom's desk while she works.

Harry has already made several doggy friends in his new neighborhood that he can run around with and gets along with all of them!

He has made his adoptive family extremely happy. They simply adore him. They can't believe they hit the jackpot with the perfect dog for their family.

Harry is doing great. He is a fun dog to have around. He has been keeping a close eye on those pesky squirrels that keep raiding our bird feeders. He is loving this cooler weather and can't wait to get outside to see what is happening in the yard. We have a lot of activity between the birds, squirrels, and bunnies.

Harry has not had any seizures while in our care. His medication is doing the trick if anyone was concerned about having a dog with seizures.

Harry loves his peanut butter Kongs and the marrow bone he picked out at our local pet store. Sticking some treats inside gives him an extra challenge and keeps him busy on these rainy days.

I know there are some goodies in here somewhere.

If you are looking for a fun, loving boy to share your life, Harry would love to meet you.

Harry is doing great. He is such a big goof ball. Harry has a great personality and loves being with people. He learns routines quickly and has fit in here like he's been here forever. Harry would make a great therapy dog if anyone would be interested in doing that with him. Even though he still needs basic training, he is a very smart boy and listens really well. Being food motivated helps a lot, too.

We have been going on longer walks since it has been cooler outside and Harry loves that. He walks nicely with the Gentle Leader and is learning to heel. We have also been practicing walking in and out of doorways rather than bounding in and out. He is learning quickly.

If anyone is wondering about the cost of the seizure medication, I refilled Harry's phenobarbital recently and it's approximately $30.00 per month. It has been very effective because I haven't seen any sign of a seizure since Harry arrived to our house.

Harry would love to find a home of his own, so please consider our beautiful, honorary Golden.

I promise no tricks and I'll give up treats if I can find my forever home.

To all in RAGOM Land I introduce Mr. Harry. He is a 3-year-old mixed breed who loves everyone and is a very happy, happy guy. He is a young boy with moderate energy who loves walks and tennis balls. Harry doesn't have over-the-top energy but he does love speed. He is a fast walker, runs after tennis balls full speed ahead, and also keeps the yard clear of squirrels and bunnies.

When Harry arrived, one of our other foster dogs, Maggie 18-131, wasn't real accepting of Harry. I think he smelled like too many dogs at once since he came directly from the shelter. She tried to put him in his place many times and Harry just walked away—no engagement with Maggie at all. He was a really good boy when dealing with Maggie's snarky attitude.

Harry has a history of seizures, which are well controlled with medication. He has not had a single seizure since he arrived here. Because the medication makes him drink more water, which leads to the need to go potty more often, his forever home should be able to give him potty breaks every 4 – 5 hours.

He would have a tough time lasting for a full work day. Harry does not get us up in the night, but when we wake up he definitely wants to get outside right away. We also put the water dish up during the night. Harry has had no accidents since coming here.

Harry needs a basic obedience class or to be in a forever home where he will have consistent training. He actually behaves pretty well considering he doesn't have much training. But to make a happy household with a happy dog, obedience training for him would be recommended. He is very food motivated and is smart, so he picks things up pretty easily.

Harry has had free rein of the house and he does great. He loves to chew antlers and Kongs, and that keeps him busy for awhile. Even though he really likes chewing those things he has not picked up and chewed anything he shouldn't have.

If you would like a young dog that is full of life, a great exercise partner and a snuggle bug at night, Harry is a perfect companion.
