Profile

4/23/06: Holly Noel is 9 years old, going on 2!! This little girl is in excellent shape and based on her energy, one would never guess that she is 9. Holly is a red colored girl with a slightly graying face weighing in at 65 pounds. Holly came from a family that had 8 children and a cat. She has been excellent with my dogs, cats and toddler too. Holly LOVES tennis balls more than life itself! The only time she has dropped that thing is to eat and drink. And even then, it?s not far from her. In fact, when she drinks, she puts her ball in the water too!! Goofy girl!!

Holly has even better news to report today... She has been adopted by Neal & Shelley P., their two children, two cats and Dachshund!! Holly might even be one of the kids' 4-H projects! I know for certain that she'll win a blue ribbon in tennis ball fetching. We'll miss you Miss Holly Belle! Be sure to write and send pictures when you’re taking a rest from the tennis balls you so dearly love!!

Holly has great news to report today. It has been two weeks and one day since her last seizure!! Looks like the increased Phenobarbitol dose is working, so far anyway. Holly gets her pills right in her food bowl and gobbles them right up. She will miss one on occasion, but will eat it if I put it with a couple more pieces of food. Holly had a bath last weekend and she was the funniest dog I've ever seen in the dog shower. She actually laid down and was biting and pawing at the water! Silly...

Holly continues to hang out with us and have a good time this summer. She loves to go for walks and is a great walker…unless we stop to talk to people along the way! She isn’t naughty by any means, just excited, and it gets a bit chaotic with 3 dogs and a stroller! She loves to play fetch and will play for as long as her humans' arms can throw! The only “naughty” thing Holly does is countersurf on occasion. She doesn’t do it if I’m in the room, or even on the same floor as that...

It's been a couple of weeks since I've sent an update on Holly, but there isn't really anything new to report! She went in for bloodwork on June 5th to check liver enzymes and her Phenobarb level. Her liver enzymes were good but her Phenobarb level was a bit low so we increased her dose by 15 mg./day. She had a seizure later that night and didn't have one again until last night. She's gone from having them every 2-3 days to once a week and this last one was 10 days since the last. We're defi...

Holly will be at Pet Expo in Mankato on Sunday, May 28th from 11-2. Holly is still with us and continues to be the biggest tennis ball nut I have ever met! We had a bit of a change at our house last weekend when we adopted a rabbit. Holly is a bit more than curious (obsessed???) with the rabbit and I think she would really enjoy her as a snack! Holly loves to go for walks and likes to lead right up front next to Jackson. She has become a pro with the Gentle Leader now and knows that we're go...

Holly continues to do very well at our house. She has completely recovered from her spay and had her stitches removed last week. She was a very good girl and didn't bother her stitches at all either! She got the go ahead to go for long walks again and we've discovered that she needs a Gentle Leader very much!! I thought she was going to pull my arm off without it! She got used to it very quickly and is now a pleasure to walk. Holly is a very active girl and needs some sort of exercise ever...

Holly has been with us for almost a week now and has been the perfect houseguest since she walked in the door. She is housetrained, is great with my dogs, cats and toddler. She comes when called, knows sit and lay down. She rides great in the car, but does whine every now and again when she wants to see outside. We have a minivan, so not great window seats for dogs! She snuck out the door as I was leaving for work one morning, but she went right to my car, waiting for me to open it! She di...

Miss Holly Belle came home with us last night. She kept her tennis ball in her mouth during the entire hour and a half ride home! She said hello to our dogs in the backyard and then came inside for a self guided tour of the house. She met each cat with nothing more than a sniff and came back to me and the dogs for her supper. She ate everything and then settled in on the floor by the couch for some loving. Holly has some medical issues that need to be addressed. First off, she needs to be...
