This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

Hunter, 15-178, is a sweet and silly 11 week old puppy. His mom is a PB Golden and his dad is the handsome boxer next door. Hunter is around 11lb, black in color, but almost appears to have caramel color highlights. He has an adorable white goatee, a white 'V' on his chest (Captain Vacuum - he could have been named Hoover) and white toes on his hind feet.

He is quite the snuggle bug and gives the best puppy kisses! Hunter is all puppy, with puppy antics and behavior in spades. He literally rips through stacks of mail in minutes, and trust me, if you ever have an attack by a marauding group of hostas or weeds, he is your man!

Hunter is getting better about doing his business outside. The first few days FM (foster mom) was very rusty on potty training techniques and we were about 50-50 at getting outside. Now that FM has refreshed her training, Hunter's training is going much better.

Hunter is not one to turn away from a meal, treat, or any morsel on the floor.  He's learning to sit and wait before diving in but eats with abandon once he has permission. He will lick any and every bowl clean that he can get to and isn't afraid to nose his way into the other dogs' bowls while they are eating. He's also developed a love of ice cubes as a fun treat that serves double duty as a play thing.

He adores other dogs and is persistently trying to get the RDs (resident dogs) to play. He especially enjoys taunting the female Schnoodle, who does not at all appreciate his youthful exuberance.  His previous temp foster reported he thinks he is pretty hot stuff when he joins the big dogs for walks. We've not experienced that as our Golden is out of commission following ACL surgery.

Hunter will sleep in his crate with minimal fussing if he's already dozed off. He prefers to cuddle up next to FM to nap and takes several good naps during the day and sleeps through the night, usually waking between 6-7AM . He is very excited to see his people first thing in the morning and any time he's been separated from them. He does jump in his excitement, and is working on his manners.

He is not as fond of the crate when he's awake and can raise quite a sad and desperate ruckus. He bonds very quickly and just wants to be with you, he follows FM everywhere, and has been very good about staying close when outside.

Hunter is a cute and cuddly puppy who will make you laugh out loud when he gets the puppy zoomies or plops his butt down in a sit and cocks his head and looks at you as if saying "see how good I am, now where's my treat". He will make one lucky family very happy. If that's you, please contact your placement advisor.
