This handsome new boy is Hutter 10-335. We have been calling him Hunter since it is so close and he responds to it really well. We have had him since Sunday and he is going to make someone a wonderful dog. He was born in December of 2008 and is such a beautiful dark red color. I have had many comments on what a beautiful dog he is already. We went to the vet on Monday and got him up to date on his shots and he had a negative HW test. He weighed in at 50lbs and is just a petite little guy.  He will go back in next Monday to be neutered and then he will be ready for his forever family.

Hunter gets along great with our three girls and does well with our two cats as well. He loves to ride in the car and loves all people. He is a total Velcro boy and follows me wherever I go. He knows sit and come so far and seems to be very interested in pleasing his people so I think he will be an easy boy to train. He does jump up on new people and we are working on that. Usually an eh-eh and a sit command will do the trick unless he is really excited. He would also benefit from the use of a gentle leader as he really likes to pull. We will be trying that out this week. 

Hunter loves to play ball. We have been playing every day and you can tell he just loves it. He also loves to carry around stuffies and chew on nylabones. He is a busy boy still as he is a young guy and will need a family that can give him plenty of exercise. We are working on the house training and crate training. I was told he was originally house trained, but he had recently been put outside to live and I think he lost some of his manners. We have been keeping a close eye on him and have only had 1 accident in the past couple of days. I don’t think it will take long to get him completely trained as he just wants to please. We are to the point where he will go in his crate with a treat and it has only been a couple of days. He is a quick learner.  More to come on this handsome boy as we get to know him better.
