Please help give a warm RAGOM welcome to Isabel or, as I like to call her, Belle-Belle. We are longtime RAGOM volunteers that moved to Puerto Rico for a work assignment. While leaving work one day, my husband found a litter of 5 puppies left in the parking lot. The mom was nowhere to be found. Naturally, my husband brought them home and we began the rescue process. Isabel started as 14 pounds and has grown to 19 pounds as of September 23rd. She is completely up to date on all her shots, including rabies and bordetella as well as Frontline and Heartgard. When we first got the puppies, they all had pretty bad dry skin, but with some medicated shampoo, it cleared up amazingly. Now, they all have hair again!! All the puppies have been spayed/neutered. We were able to find homes for two of the five puppies here in Puerto Rico, but Isabel and her sisters (Lilly 14-300 and Juno 14-301) have hit the jackpot. They got to get on a big plane for a “field trip” to Minnesota where RAGOM will help get them to the forever home that they so deserve!!
Isabel is a really fun dog. I call her my spunky one. She is very agile and would make a great running partner. She loves to chase tennis balls or, should I say, “outchase” other dogs chasing tennis balls. She gets along great with dogs and kids. She has not been exposed to cats, but I think she’d be fine. She’d probably want to play, as that is what she does...play, play, play. When she’s in the house, she likes to play with her toys...any kind of toys, but squeaky ones are her favorites. She especially likes squeaky Kong tennis balls. Isabel is still learning how to walk on a leash and use the bathroom outside. She knows “sit” and will sit for just about anything. She is very treat-motivated. Have I mentioned the ice machine? She will be right under your feet in a sitting position waiting for that tasty morsel of frozen water!! Isabel is crate trained to sleep through the night for about 8 hours as well as she is kenneled while I’m gone during the day, although it is not her favorite. When she’s done playing, she is just a loveable dog that curls in with you on the couch while you relax. Isabel is a super fun dog to have around and would make a great addition to any family.
Once Isabel arrives in Minnesota, she will need to get a microchip, then she’s ready for adoption to her forever home. If you think that might be you, please contact your placement advisor and I’m sure Isabel’s new foster would love to set up a meeting!!
Isabel—I will miss your fun, “keep me on my toes” attitude. Be good and be sweet. Hugs and kisses to you...
