Meet Miss Jasmine (also known as Jaz, Jazzy, Jazzy Pants).
Jaz is a three-year-old, 48-pound purebred Golden, spayed, chipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, tick prevention and heartworm.
Jasmine has magically soft fur and a face that always looks like she has something to say. She was lovingly surrendered by an owner who loved her dearly, but who could not afford to get to the bottom of her health issues.
Jasmine is extremely playful with other dogs and good with older kids. She can be a bit bossy and stubborn, so probably not great with toddlers or small children. We’ve been working with her on not engaging people in play the same way she would engage other dogs, and she has made huge progress. She does well in crowds and around strangers, but she is extremely alert at home and will bark when people come to the door.
Jaz doesn’t wander and likes to be where the action is. She’s great on walks and is getting better on a lead. She is used to having lots of room to play and LOVES to swim in the river.
She is used to being with a work-from-home mom and other dogs. Jasmine would likely do OK at home without humans if she had another canine friend. She has not had contact with cats so we are not sure how she would do with them. She is not crated and does not chew or cause trouble when left in the house, but she has rarely been all by herself. She loves riding in the car. Like all true Goldens, she also needs regular brushings and periodic trips to the groomer.
Initially Jasmine would not eat dry dog food, but she has managed to get to a point where she chows her food down as long as there is a tablespoon or two of wet food on it.
Jaz has had a few health issues and was originally thought to have Cushings disease. A recent test indicated she does NOT have this. She has been treated for a tick-borne illness and is finished with her meds. In every single way Jasmine is now a perfectly healthy, beautiful, funny, loving, extremely smart Golden.
This dog is a delight. She’s an easy companion and will adjust well to her forever home.
