Lacey 16-224 is a 5-year-old (date of birth: October 9, 2010) Golden Retriever. She was surrendered to RAGOM from a breeder. Lacey is now retired and will be spayed next week. Her mama days are over, and she will be enjoying the Golden Life.
Lacey is very afraid of her surroundings right now. She is not used to being inside a house and is finding everything a bit scary. She is spending most of her time hiding in her crate. When she does come out, it is to see what the resident dogs are doing and to get a drink of water. She is keeping her crate clean and is doing her business outside. I do have to hook the leash on her to get her to follow me outside.
With time, patience, and love, I think she will be a wonderful dog. She is very sweet and gentle!
She is eating in her crate. We cannot look at her, or she will not eat. Lacey is looking to the other dogs in our home for guidance. She will need to have a confident dog in her forever home to help her learn and to feel comfortable.
She will also need a home without small children. She is very scared and nervous. Small children and loud noises would frighten her. Lots of noises and fast movements frighten her.
At this time, I would also like her to have a fenced yard. This may change as she gets more comfortable around people. She does have a hard time taking care of her potty business when on a leash.
