Lucy is a beautiful 8 year old PB golden with a very reddish coat. She has wonderful manners, is very affectionate, does not go onto furniture, does not counter surf and is completely house broken. She does not have storm anxiety and seems to get along fine with other dogs but I don’t know about cats. When we come home after work Lucy dances in circles wanting lots of pets and attention but she does not jump up. She is really quite a lady if a little overweight. Lucy needs to lose 10 to 15 pounds which we are working on.

This dear girl does have one problem. Lucy has a torn Achilles tendon in her left rear leg. She got it playing ball with her previous owner. Lucy was surrendered to RAGOM and came into our life because the previous owner could not afford the surgery to fix her leg and couldn’t stand to see her in pain even though his vet told him Lucy could just stay on pain pills for the rest of her life and not have the surgery to correct her leg! He was very sad to see Lucy go but he wanted the best for her. Hopefully Lucy will be going in for surgery within the next couple of weeks.

Lucy is really very active even with her bad leg. She loves to go for walks every day and if it is raining she is very disappointed that we don’t go. Lucy loves to swim. We went to the cabin over Memorial Day weekend and she was in and out of the water all day and loved exploring in the woods.

Lucy is on pain medication twice a day but she never complains about her leg. I have never heard her whimper or cry. She does get tired and then she limps a little more than usual or holds her leg up. I can't wait for her to have the surgery she needs so she can be back to her wonderful playful self.
