Luther was brought to RAGOM via the AHS where he lived for just under a month. All the staff I spoke with ALL love this guy and were so happy to see him going to RAGOM to find his forever home! He had comment cards that noted: 'gentle giant' 'gentle soul' 'all around great dog' 'loves lovies' 'great walker' 'alert' 'must be housebroke because he keeps his run clean!' 'he's my favorite' (I have found all of these things to be true!)

When I got Luther home he looked so happy to see a yard and a house as he perked up and his tail was a waggin! We then went into the house and he seemed SO happy and went right into the crate I had set up and laid down on the bed as if to say 'this will do!"

The first thing you will notice when you meet Luther is his tail is non-stop wagging! He IS a happy sweet boy!

At Luther's first vet appt the Vet did an age assessment based on looking at his eyes and teeth and thought Luther was between 7 and 8 years old. Luther is currently being treated for ear infections in both ears and has scarring from an old hematoma in his right ear (he has no pain or irritation when you touch it). Luther was neutered while at the AHS on 5/30. And, being that we don't know much about this guys adventure on the road (and he's not talking) he is currently underweight and malnourished...so he is now on a really high quality SR food! YUM! And he loves treats! Luther is currently getting great vet care and is on the path of great health.

Here are some notes about this sweet boy!

• He eats very gently out of my hand, such a gentleman
• I have not seen him resource guard anything
• Loves to follow me around ever where I go
• Walks great on a leash
• Has been given free roam of my main level and has had no issues (he is not destructive)
• Loves to be brushed and petted
• He did great for his first bath - seemed to enjoy the 'soapy scrubbins' - THANK YOU DENISE A. for assisting!
• Looks to be an 'honorary golden' and is all Lab
• Does great in the car, no crate
• Does great with other dogs
• He has done great around the kids he has met (9 and 10 yr old)
• Did I mention he wags his tail A LOT? happy, happy boy!

Because we don't know much about Luther's past we do not know his previous name (and not from my lack of trying - I keep calling out random names to see if I get a response for any of them). He does not necessarily know LUTHER to be his name, so his forever home could transition him to a chosen name pretty easily. (he does seem to like the sound of GUS so you may hear me slip up and call him GUS - I think he likes it cuz it has a happy sound to it)

Once you meet this boy you will have a hard time not falling in love with him! He's a sweet heart!
