Profile

Nuke traveled all the way from China via Canada before arriving in Minnesota! Sadly, we believe Nuke was abused before coming into RAGOM, and as a result, this guy is understandably cautious in certain situations. Nuke has been with the same loving foster family since he arrived and is a devoted family dog. He has been working with a trainer to learn how to accept his surroundings and ultimately enjoy his golden life. His fosters have taught Nuke how to walk on a leash, enjoy his baby pool, and the company of people, and now he is learning how to trust people.

In addition to being loved and spoiled (as all doggies want), Nuke is looking for a family where he is the only dog and won’t have much exposure to other dogs. If you live in a rural area with a large fenced yard or have a yard with no dogs walking by the fence, Nuke would flourish and be a loyal companion! He’s an intelligent boy who learns faster than most and may enjoy agility training or other things that challenge his mind and body.  Nuke wants to be a part of a family that will enjoy him. No need for another dog. He will bring you enough love all by himself!

As a bonus, Nuke’s trainer will continue to support Nuke’s adoptive family, so everyone is fully supported as Nuke transitions to his forever family. Could you be the perfect family for this beautiful boy?

Nuke has been with his foster family for 18 months, during which time they have learned so much about each other and how to help Nuke live a happy life. It turns out Nuke has been home the entire time, and now they are making it official.  Thank you, Beth S. and Sam A., for the wonderful life you’ve given Nuke!

It's been awhile since you have heard about Nuke and that's because he has been working very hard with a positive reinforcement trainer to reduce his excitability around other dogs.  The process is slow but he has definitely made positive gains and we're very proud of Nuke.  While working on the introduction to dogs, we must also let you know that he absolutely LOVES LOVES people.  We calmly make introductions, as is done with all dogs, and he is in heaven--Yahoo, new people to gi...

Nuke is a sweet, affectionate, and enthusiastic young pup. When we first met him, he was onalert and did not relax for long. Now he never passes up the chance to join us on the couch withhis head resting on a lap or snuggled in right next to us. He then falls asleep and even snores.Nuke has learned to wait for our “ok” before diving into his food bowl. He is practicing loweringhis excitement/jumping when someone comes to the door. He loves to figure out enrichmentgames and he spends...

Nuke is an approximately 20-month-old Golden who we began to foster 8 months ago in April 2022. No verifiable details are known about his history prior to his first foster home. One possibility is that he was rescued in China and flown to Canada initially, where we do know that he was fostered by two different people for approximately 2 months before RAGOM agreed to foster him, at which point he was flown to Minnesota. His immediately prior foster parent in Canada told us that Nuke was emaciated...
