This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog. |
Olive is a three-year old female Golden Retriever mix, weighing 40 pounds. She does not require a fence, is kid friendly, and gets along with other dogs and cats. She has a sweet and submissive personality.
Olive came into RAGOM from South Dakota with two eight week old puppies, Winona 14-290 and Ward 14-291. All three dogs had mange, underwent treatment, and are expected to be cleared from quarantine this week, having fully recovered.
Olive is being fed a high quality dogfood, supplemented with canned and fish oil. She has gained weight and is close to normal now. Her fecal and heartworm tests were negative and she was brought up to date with vaccinations. She will be spayed soon.
Olive has pain in her right front wrist and rear left leg and is receiving Rimadyl to help with the pain. She walks with a limp. Xrays show no breaks, fractures or arthritis and the area is not swollen. The vet said if there had been a soft tissue injury, it would have healed by now (3 weeks since rescue by another group). She recommended range of motion exercises and regular short walks with a leash. We are to keep her updated with Olive's condition. We will keep you posted.
