Meet Otto. He is a PB Golden Retriever who just turned 6 years old in November. He is a trained hunting dog and very well behaved. He is house trained, crate trained and rides well in the car. This is one sweet, mellow boy. He loves toys and loves to fetch a tennis ball. I would go as far as to say he's even a bit ball crazy. He gets along great with the resident dog unless there is a ball or toy involved. In order to manage this I've picked up all the dog toys around the house and put them in one basket in my office. More than once I've caught Otto sneaking in and trying to get a toy. I don't think he can't help it, he just LOVES toys.
Otto has adjusted very quickly to his new foster home. He slept quietly in his crate all night long. I'm told he's not a barker and I haven't heard him bark yet. We went for a long walk today and he did great. He keeps pace wonderfully and doesn't pull on his leash at all. So far he has been a terrific house guest. A real pleasure to have around. He shows no interest in getting up on the furniture. He's just content to be near us.
Otto has recently started having seizures, about one per month. We will be bringing him to the vet next week to find out what is going on. More to come after his vet visit.
