This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

Miss Penelope girl (Penny) is a 2.5-year-old purebred Golden Retriever. She has a dark copper coat and those beautiful Golden Retriever eyes. She is a little on the thin side which is an easy fix. Penny just had a litter of pups about 9-10 weeks ago. She is now spayed. So she needs to build up her energy and body now. Her coat is a little dry for the same reason, although as you can see, it is beautiful. This Golden is about as great as you can get.

*** PLEASE NOTE that this girl NEEDS a fence and ANOTHER dog or dogs... Someone who understands breeder Goldens, who is calm and patient. We have not had her around children yet.

Here is what we know at this time:

  • She is a 2.5-year-old purebred Golden Retriever.
  • She is a smaller Golden, approximately 60# and can use some weight.
  • She has a beautiful, darker red coat, curly on the rear with a FLUFFY tail, but dry due to her previous diet and just being a mama.
  • She has a outstanding personality: gets along with dogs and cats with no problem.
  • She loves belly rubs and any golden pets you can spare.
  • She listens very well and follows you perfectly.
  • She walks great on a leash (we need to do the long outside-of-the-yard walks yet), trots right next to me around the large fenced-in yard and enjoys it!
  • Very well-behaved; neighbor Doodle went nuts at the fence and she didn’t.
  • Has a very gentle mouth, takes treats nicely
  • Rides in the vehicle just fine.
  • Goes in her crate with encouragement and by herself when door left open, and is quiet.
  • She listens very well and respects baby gates.
  • Seems 100% house trained.

Penny is doing just great, considering the short amount of time she has been here. Ever so sweet and beautiful. She is still shy and really wants to be by you AND the dogs. I have left her crate open and she likes to go in there for rest times.... She will need time and patience and she will be out of her shell very quickly, I think!
