Profile

We would like you to meet Peyton. She is a beautiful dark red girl who came to us very shy and very scared. She is about six months old and up until now had lived in a barn with a pig!! So our house is a very big and scary place!!

The first 24 hours she layed in her crate and would not move. We had to carry her outside to go potty. We still need to carry her down the stairs, but will come up the stairs with a little help. Peyton loves to be outside and acts like a puppy should, but once she is in the house she likes to find the nearest corner. When she feels comfortable she will start to explore, and did find a dog bed to rest on.

Peyton has found her forever home. She has 2 fur brothers to play with, and a family that has already fallen madly in love with her. She has waited a long time for this day, and I know that the wait was well worth it. Peyton now knows what having a family of her very own feels like. She is going to be living like a queen, and she deserves every minute of it. We could not be happier for her. She has been here in Rochester with us for about 2 months, and I can say that she progressed daily, into t...

We have exciting news here for Peyton. She has a family that will be coming to see her on Saturday. She already met them at Chuck and Don's a couple of weeks ago, and they will be bringing their 2 Goldens along to check her out. Keep all of your paws crossed for her.

Just a note to let everyone know that Peyton is doing great. She is such a affectionate girl, once she gets to know you. We also found out that she loves to run in the snow. We got about 5 inches here in Rochester on Friday, and she and her foster sisters, and brother had so much fun chasing each other around in it. I, personally was not so excited about it. She attended a meet and greet here in Rochester  for the first time yesterday, and did wonderful. She loves all other dogs, in fact, h...

Peyton has moved a little south over the last week. She is now being fostered in Rochester, and has the pleasure of playing and learning from her sister. She has been with us for only 4 days, and she has fully adjusted, and bonded with all of our family. She is a wonderful girl. She fit right into our home, and most of all right into our pack. We could not be happier with the progress that we have seen in her. Peyton has been very lucky to have spent the last few months with her previous foster...

Peyton has enjoyed the last warm days of summer. The lake is still warm enough to fetch the tennis ball in or just to go wading. With school starting she is in the crate all day and is very excited to see us when we get home. She jumps around like a kangaroo, she is so excited. To help Peyton run off her pent up energy we hit a tennis ball for her. She loves to fetch any thing!! She will bring it back to you but will keep it in her mouth, so we are working on her giving up the ball so we do...

Hi all,Once again we are a little tardy with an update. In the time since we last talked, we have had a computer failure as well as an interested family come to visit. the computer was fixed, but we are sad to say the family passed on Peyton. She is still available for you! This second visit went much much better then the first. Peyton allowed the applicants to pet her and went on a walk with them. In the end, she was still too timid for this family. We totally understand their decision.Peyton s...

Hi everyone, sorry for the delay in updates for Peyton, we have been enjoying the summer. Peyton has taking a likeing to swimming and boating!! She really enjoys just wading in the water too!! Peyton has really turned into a lovely young lady. She does continue to be very shy and cautious around new people and different surroundings. We had family visit with young children ages 6 and 2, Peyton did not care to be around them and spent her time in her crate. So we would recommend that she go...

Hello followers of Peyton!Sorry for the delay in her updates, it has been a busy summer; much to Peyton's sha-grin. We have been slowly introducing new people to Peyton. As always, she is very shy and goes to her safe place. We have noticed that if the introduction also has a dog, it has been going a lot better. She will stand off, but sniff in an interested way. Peyton now likes to meet new dogs, quiet ones. The renters next door have two Weimors. She met the younger one with no problems and lo...

Hi to all Peyton followers, Peyton is learning to do many things. Her favorite is to find dead fish along the shore and have a shore lunch....MMMM. She is starting to get used to the water. We have been working on water retrieves. This last weekend we went on a long car trip. The first part was to go to a HS track meet. The volume of people and the noise was not to her liking; so she spent the evening in the car. She was a good girl. The last part was a trip to the foster grand-parents hous...

Hi all you Peyton followers! This week has been a week for firsts for our girl Peyton. Peyton had a visit from her first applicant family. A wonderful couple made the trip up from the cities with their dog Niko. In true Peyton form, she was so shy she did not want to go up to them and even give them a sniff. She was a little more interested in their dog. He was a younger pup, about 6mo old and full of energy and excitement. Peyton liked that at first, but let Niko know, when he was getting too ra...

Peyton hopes this update finds you all well. She continues to come out of her shell. She loves to go outside and fetch the throwing dummy. Peyton has not had any accidents in the house for over three weeks. She likes to play with our yellow lab, but is shy about meeting other dogs. She is also shy around new people, but will come up to them if they are sitting on the couch. Peyton has experienced many new things. We purchased a new stuffed animal for her and it has a squeeker in it. She really e...

Hi everyone, Peyton is feeling more comfortable in her foster home. She has been exploring more around the house, venturing into the kitchen and sniffing around. She is also more comfortable walking on the laminate flooring. Peyton will now follow the resident around the table and play chase. When the snow was melting the other day, it created a stream that ran down the drive way, Peyton noticed it and could not figure out how it worked. She put her paw in the water and pulled it back,...

We have seen many ups and downs for your girl in the last several weeks. One thing is for sure: A daily ritual is a must. We are now used to getting up and going outside to go to the bathroom. We have also started to have an idea of what her 'potty' body language is like. From this, we have notice a very drastic decrease in accidents in the house. During the day when we are at home Peyton has the run of the house. She chooses to be by us unless we are on some flooring surface that does n...

Foster Dad is doing the update today......In the last week we have seen lots of extremes: both in the temperature and the disposition of our foster Peyton. As mentioned before, Peyton came to us not knowing a single thing. Well we are now at the other extreme. She is now able to go through doors (most of them), go up and down steps (as long as they are lit) and will eat out of a bowl. Lots of big steps for our little girl! She will even cross the "Kitchen laminate floor of doom" as lon...
