Ranger 09-036 wants to say "Hi" to everyone out there in RAGOM land.  He is the newest addition to our home, but I have a feeling he won't be with us long.  He is a great pup!  He's been here for about 2 hours now and we are still getting to know him, obviously, but here's what we know about him so far....

He was surrendered by a very loving family that wanted to see him go to a home that will give him more time and attention and more room to run and stretch his legs.  He lived with a two year old little girl and his fur sibling Sunny 09-037 who was also surrendered and now in another RAGOM foster home.

• He's very handsome and well behaved.
• He knows sit, stay, lay down and drop.
• Ranger is already neutered.
• He weighs about 72 lbs. and is a bit on the tall side.
• He is housetrained and had free roam of the house when his surrendering owners were gone.
• He is 6 years old.  His birthday is June 18th, 2002.
• He will sit and wait for his food after you put it down.  Just tell him "sit" then "wait" and then "good boy" when you want him to start eating.
• He saw one of our cats and did not have a reaction.  So I think he is cat safe.
• Ranger and our resident Lucy met nicely.  Lucy can be pretty snarky with new dogs when they arrive, but Ranger was excellent. 

As far as I can tell, Ranger is a great big ol' teddy bear.  In his previous home he was allowed on the furniture, but not the bed.  We will continue this.  In fact, he is napping at my side as I type this while sitting on the couch.  Like most goldens, he is very much a people dog and likes to be near you.  He is very affectionate.

We'll make an appointment at the vet in the next couple days to get his wellness check done and have his ear looked at.  He seems to have an ear infection.  We'll also get an exact weight on him and have him chipped.
