Reese made it to his foster home safe and sound at about 8pm Sunday night. He is a 45 lb bundle of energy. He was initially stressed (as any dog would be) but showed his true self very quickly (within an hour). He loves attention, hopping up to be petted and make his presence known. He wouldn't take any treats or food from me (which I attribute to stress), but found the water dish quickly.
When it was time for bed, Reese needed some coercing to get into his kennel. I think he just didn't want to go to bed yet, because he quickly settled down and went the entire night without a whine. He was patient in the morning while I got ready so I think he is used to a kennel.
This morning he was ready to play and we played fetch for awhile. He is terrific at bringing it back and dropping it in your hand. After work we'll get to try his first walk with the Gentle Leader. He is a puller so we'll have to work at that in this next week or so.
Reese is going in this afternoon for his wellness check, Rabies shot, and Microchipping. I'm sure this cute boy will win over a few of the hearts in the vet clinic today!
