Hello World!  It’s me, Rex!  Well, that’s what they call me anyway…  I don’t really answer to it yet.  I probably had a different name before they found me as a stray down in southern Missouri, but I’m not telling.  FM says I am a darling, petite little fella, but who talks like that about a guy?!?  Am I right?  So, instead let’s say I am a handsome, compact young dude.  I will tell you that I am not just a boring old Golden Retriever, it took a very special (secret) recipe to make me!  I guess I am about 2 or so, but who really knows?  I am a man of mystery…

What I do know is that things are pretty great here at my foster house.  I have two fur-butts to play with, a fenced yard to run in and four two-leggers to love up!  I like full-contact snuggling and I’m real good at wiggling my body in super close and settling in for some lovin’. Check out my smile when FD is working me over with his scratching hands! A guy who met me at the vet yesterday thought maybe he should take me home, but then his wife stepped in with some mumbo jumbo about “two is enough” and “you can’t take home every cute animal”.  Geez, lady, a little Machiavellian don’t you think?  Anyway, I am a bit protective of my stuff and a little fresh with the other four-leggers around here, but we are working on that.  Right now, FM is keeping me on a leash all the time, too.  She says it is so I remember not to pee inside, but I think it is just as likely that she is using me to remind herself that she isn’t supposed to pee outside and neither one of us is supposed to potty on the deck!  It seems to be working for both of us—she’s kept her shorts on outside and I haven’t lifted my leg in the house!

I’ve got a special appointment for some bonding time with the vet on Thursday.  FM is a little vague about what we’re gonna be doing, but apparently it is a non-negotiable visit.  Once that’s done and I’m back home, she says I’ll be ready for my forever family!  Whoo hooo!   I’m not too picky, so if you have room in your house and your heart for a guy like me I think we can make a deal!
