Please welcome Sammy 14-061 to RAGOM. Sammy joined the RAGOM family, and ours, on March 14. He and his companion, Mia 14-060, were lovingly surrendered by family who, do to circumstances beyond their control, had to move.

Sammy and Mia

Sammy is a 5 ½-year-old male Goldendoodle. He weighs 86 pounds and is up-to-date on all his vaccines and preventative medications. Sammy is currently being treated for an ear infection. He is neutered and house trained. He lived with children and cats his whole life and did well with both. He is friendly toward people and other dogs. His previous family indicates he is crate trained, but we haven’t had to check that out. He has had free roam of the house since he came. He does respect baby gates. We have not seen any resource guarding or counter surfing.

His prized possession is his ball! The only thing he has gotten into is the toy bin to dig for the tennis balls. He will outlast you any day of the week when it comes to playing ball. Nearly every picture we have taken of him includes a tennis ball in his mouth.

We have recommended that he have a fenced yard as he was raised in a home with a fence and has one here. His name recall isn’t that great, but he will return to you if you have a…you guessed it…a ball. We also recommended children aged 10+ because he is so big, he would easily knock over a smaller child, although he does not jump. We figured an older child could keep up with his retrieving activity!

Sammy walks very well with his martingale collar. He would do fine with just a flat collar. He enjoys his walks and does well with our resident dog. I can easily manage both dogs by myself. As you can see, Sammy has a new hairdo since he arrived with us. We love him with either his long fur or his summer cut. Either way you prefer, he is one good looking boy.

He is vetted, groomed and ready to meet his forever family. He will be attending his first meet & greet in Sioux Falls this Saturday. Perhaps his forever family will be there to meet him. One thing is for sure, the promise we made to find the perfect family for him will be easy because RAGOM adopters are the best.
