Shadow came to us on August 23rd, 2014, as a foster dog. He was up to date on all vaccinations and tested negative on the fecal test and heartworm test. Shadow was underweight to the point where you could see his ribs. We have since been trying to get him to gain weight. He would not eat much dry food at the beginning, so we mixed wet food in with it, which seemed to help. After weaning him off of the wet food, he recently began eating only dry food. Shadow still isn’t eating as much as we would like, but he looks like he is gaining weight. After fostering Shadow for a couple of weeks, we made the decision to adopt him. He is extremely sweet and affectionate. We decided to keep his name, Shadow, because he does follow us around like a shadow would. He was housebroken already and has had one accident since he has been with us. Shadow knows a few commands like “sit,” “come,” and recently we have learned “lay.” We are still working on “stay” and leash training, which has improved over the last few weeks. Shadow makes a great companion and is everything we wanted in a dog.
