Here’s Woody! Woody 13-094 is a beautiful chocolate lab/golden retriever mix. What a perfect combination-chocolate colored with beautiful gold highlights. See his Golden Feathers?

Woody was found as a stray and brought into a local shelter who contacted RAGOM. It is estimated that he is 1.5 to 2 years old. Woody is still very new to our home- only here 5 days, but we wanted to get him on the available page because we know he will capture some loving family’s heart right away.

Woody’s first few days have been busy with vetting. Thanks to the cancelations from the spring ice storm, we were able to get him in right away. He is now up to date with all vaccinations and preventatives (heartworm and frontline). He was found to have pink eye and hookworm, and will finish his treatment for those in 4 more days. He is also now neutered.

Here’s what we know thus far:

• Appears to be housetrained-only one accident and that was in his crate on his first day- seemed to be more nerves than anything.
• Working on crate training- he is crated while we are away from the house.
• Has learned his name quickly in this short time-seems to be a very smart boy.
• He is learning to walk on a gentle leader and walks nicely. We haven’t tried a flat collar.
• Shy until he gets to know you.
• Has “puppy” tendencies (likes to chew-so you have to keep your shoes picked up!)
• Gets along great with dogs- he loves our second foster, Jasmine 13-040 and played with a lab and pit bull while at the shelter.
• Gets along with cats- was tested at the shelter.

We can’t wait to see how Woody does this next week now that we are done with all the vetting. Would love to take him to some training classes- I think he would be a star pupil.
