From the wild woods of northern Minnesota to the hustle and bustle of Minneapolis, Miss Zoe has certainly had her life turned upside down.
12 month old Zoe became a RAGOM girl along with her friend Sage (15-276) on the night of October 29th. Zoe and Sage had been living on their own for several months before a Good Samaritan stepped up to bring them into safety with the help of The Retrievers, a MN based non-profit organization that specializes in the humane capture of scared and skittish dogs.
Little is known about Zoe's past life but since she's been in foster care, we're learning a lot about this little cutie. Zoe has been examined by the great staff at the Richfield VCA and although her 54# body was heavily matted, full of ticks, flea debris and ear mites, she is overall healthy. Zoe did test positive for lymes and anaplasmosis and is being treated for both. The good news is, she is heartworm free which is surprising news given the time she spent in the wild.
Zoe is settling into her foster home very nicely. She is equally interested in us humans as she is the resident dogs. After being in foster care for a few days, Zoe is anxiously and willing to approach the humans for for love, attention and treats. Her favorite thing so far is to find a soft, cushy place to rest her cute furr-butt on, whether that be the couch, a dog bed or human bed - she is a princess in the making.
If you have a fence, a confident resident dog, no kiddos under 12, and the patience to allow Zoe to adjust to your family and home, contact your placement adviser to see if this sweet girl is the right addition to your family!
